Yeah those flipping shows are very fun to watch but at the same time misleading to people without knowledge in Real Estate. I'd also like to see some of the people's renovations bills because I've never heard of such low renovation costs on some of the episodes I've watched. I think the shows are more for entertainment then anything.

Nice article and tips. Flipping a house may appear easy on the surface, but there is alot of work and risk to consider, especially in bubble markets. If I could give one piece of advice relating to bubble markets and relate it to the stock market. Yes, there are many homes selling for 10 to 30 percent below last year's values and may seem like a steal. This is very similar to stock market investors who try to time our a bottom in the market, only to get stuck in a bad investment for years because the timing was not correct. Just as with stocks, you would be wise to not predict the housing bottom, but to react when the fundamentals and housing values actually begin to improve.

I agree, I think all these "Flip That House" Shows are prodding people who are not ready into trying to be the next Trump

Excellent article. I think that inexperienced flippers with not enough capital and knowhow coupled with a changing market stand the highest risk of failing. The safest real estate is multifamily with cashflow. At least you have money coming in while you renovate some units.
