Rental properties do best when in college and university cities typically. You can find 4-5 bedroom homes for fairly cheap and rent the rooms out to students throughout the school year and then in the summer months rent it out to a family.

In Barrie, Ontario, Canada, where I live we have a pretty big college and lots of the homes in that neighborhood are all converted into rental properties.

There aren't many houses in the area left either now as Barrie continues to grow.

Interesting read, especially in the current climate where people are put off or unable to buy a home it does mean an increase in rentals! In the uk - it might just be the buy-to-letters that prevent the property prices crashing.

There are many great opportunities all over the country right now. If you are looking at having Real Estate as part of your portfolio now would be a great time to jump in. The long term benefits are outstanding. Rental properties are an excellent vehicle to obtain wealth.

With the drop in home prices in Florida, it is the perfect time to buy rental property. I am a Realtor who handles a lot of rentals. If my investors can buy a property and cover their base costs, they are in great shape. Eventually the market will turn around. When it does, since their monthly expenses were covered by renting, their gain will come in the appreciation of the property value.
